Thanks, Dr. Lindsay, It's so plain to see, now. I appreciate how clearly you've explained this. I remember all of the 'important' voices blaming the various failures on the "pandemic of the un-vaccinated". The social pressure was intense.
Hi Conservative Southerner, I think that some of the educated left actually do desire a socialist/communist society. On the other hand, the people that I know who complied quickly with every escalation of the "two weeks to flatten the curve" scenario, including all the boosters, are people to whom it never occurred to question authority. I don't consider them to be uneducated, or even poorly educated, but they simply never took a step back, and said to themselves, "Wait just a minute, let me think about this." There seemed to be a satisfying feeling self-righteousness motivating them to be part of the 'right' group. And by the way, they are still shunning me at social events.

But those who comply in our "New Normal" may wind up crippled or dead as a reward. It's something more complicated in this current situation.
