As a former teacher the statement "educators have a responsibility...to draw students into a possible crisis" is absolutely crazy. No. No, we do not. We help students with preexisting crises (assuming it's within our scope of education, such as a playground fight) or get them professional help. We absolutely don't traumatize kids on purpose to mold their opinions. That's not teaching kids to think for themselves (i.e. giving them an education).
I do respect what you're saying, and so I'm not arguing. May I suggest that you dont know how bad things have gotten in our schools, and how quickly? Too easy to find too many TikTok videos of actual queer activist techers who proudly push their sexualized indoctrination of schoolchildren.....it's sad & tragic....God bless you, keep up the good work....
It honestly depends on where you are. I'm in the midwest in the US.
The point I was trying to make was that putting kids INTO a crisis is the antithesis of what I, at least, was taught in college and during professional development. I sat through a couple hundred meetings over the course of my seven years of teaching. If the topic was kids in crisis, we were discussing how to prevent a crisis and calm kids down. We were not trying to force a crisis or upset in order to weaponize a kid's vulnerability. It is completely insane to me that anyone would.
It makes me so angry that there are people who do think that way. Aside from the obvious - the harm to kids - I'm angry that teaching as a profession is coming under fire. Teachers are already treated like crap (some do deserve it, but many do not). These nutty "teachers" are just making it worse.
P.S. Thanks for the polite disagreement Bill. So often people can't seem to disagree without starting WWIII, so I appreciate it.
I'm not really disagreeing with you at all! See, my point is that classrooms have become a battlespace in the Culture Wars. Yes, I also mean that literally. A brief discussion of classical Marxist theory applies. "Class" has been replaced by "race", "sex", and "gender", as a weapon of psychological warfare. See also "5thGenWarfare", "irregular war", "asymetric war", etc.... Sadly, many of those troops in the "alphabet mafia" don't see how they are being deployed by their puppet masters as "useful idiots". I'm trying to gently show you that in some ways, things are worse than you know. But also, there is great hope. Your anger is justified. But if you work on accepting reality as it is, I think you will feel better, and thus become even more effective in moving "onward Christian soldiers", to quote a song lyric I first learned as a kid in Sunday school! You're ok in my book, thanks for your reply! Your compassion, AND experience, becomes ever more valuable. Please be strengthened and encouraged, my friend....
As a retired social worker (2014) I am incredulous that my profession, like most, has embraced this madness with full throated, virtuous and self-righteous approval. It is mind boggling that a quasi-religious scarification cult, that valorizes child sacrifice no less, has become elevated, promoted and institutionalized by virtually all elite Western institutions. Clearly this is an elite agenda the purpose of which lies more likely in the realm of their plans for a brave new "trans humanist" future, than in any attachment to "Queer Theory," which is quite likely functioning as a Trojan horse.

WHO should be rejected in all matters, just on general principle.
