The Governments definitely fear the truth- that is why they are now threatening us with imprisonment for telling it.

It’s truth or nothing for me! These evil woke lies have torn my children from me, but I will never play along with lies!

This is why, as a follower of Christ, I support James Lindsay, including financially. (At a teeny tiny amount, as I work only part time.)

And, as a follower of Christ, I'd go further. Jesus said He IS the truth. He embodies everything that is true. We are relational creatures. It is a fuller experience to love a person and not just an idea. I would urge you to get to know Jesus through the Bible. Even just read the gospels. (The first 4 books of the New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.) These are the primary sources and eyewitness accounts of His life.

Jesus is unlike anyone you've ever met. He is beyond wonderful. He is honest. He is faithful. He is brave. He is loyal. He is strong. He is merciful. He is brilliant. He is pure. He not only gives wisdom, He is wisdom. He is Truth, capital "T", itself.

Once you get to know Him, you cannot help but love Him. Once you love Him, He then gives you the capacity and strength to know and love truth on levels you didn't even know you could. He also gives you strength to stand for the truth in this insane culture!

He is glorious! This East Week, seek Him.

John 14:5-7

Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

The book you co-authored with Peter Boghossian, How to Have Impossible Conversations, inspired me to find disconfirmation conditions for my own beliefs. During the thought experiment, the love of truth was integral to my ability to commit to my disconfirmation conditions once I discovered them. So, I believe you are right, the love of truth is essential. I believe faith, humility, and the awareness of the existence of deception are also essential.

"If God is truth, then a sincere relentless pursuit of truth could only lead one to God (Deuteronomy 4:29). If God is not truth, then there is no reason to fear believing a different truth because believing the truth is good. If God is true, then believing in God is good. If God is not true, then not believing in God is good."

When you wrote, "you need to tell your neighbor the truth as you would expect him to tell the truth to you", that resonated with me as well. It reminded me of the point from your book about being generous in my assumptions regarding the sincerity of my conversation partner. I have to treat my conversation partner as if he loves the truth to have the expectation that he would tell the truth to me and share the truth that I would otherwise hesitate to share but would want shared with me.

Thank you for your book and the rest of your content!
